Join AAALC for FIRST LEGO League,
Junior Discovery, Junior Explore and Challenge Teams!
Course Location: 43 SW Monterey Road in Stuart
As a FIRST LEGO Robotics affiliate, AAALC offers Summer Camp opportunities. We will no longer be offering after school robotics programs. We strongly recommend reaching out to our local Martin County SPAM Team. They have a wonderful facility and program. https://tinyurl.com/SPAMFLL2024
LEGO Robotics
FIRST LEGO is an exploration-based program where children use LEGO to complete engineering and design challenges that encourage team building, collaborative learning and problem-solving. Younger teams will display work in an expo format while older teams may have the opportunity to compete pending plans related to local competitions. Teams will be formed by age/grade groups and will meet Thursdays during times specified above. This program is offered subject to minimum registration.
FIRST LEGO League Junior Discovery Edition (Ages 4-6)
Teams of 4 - 6 children will learn how to solve problems related to playgrounds, parks and engineering. Teams will think and behave like architects and engineers, developing their ability to work as a team, observe, answer questions, gather information, listen, take turns, share ideas, collaborate and think critically. No experience is required!
FIRST LEGO League Junior Explore "Masterpiece" (Ages 5-9)
Teams of 6 - 8 children will put the Art in STEAM. Teams will think and behave like artists, creating new ways to "think and communicate across the globe". They will expand their ability to design and engineer, developing their ability to work as a team, observe, answer questions, gather information, solve problems, collaborate and think critically. No experience is required!
FIRST LEGO League Challenge (Ages 9-14)
Tomorrow’s innovators practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. Guided by two or more adult Coaches, FIRST LEGO League* teams (up to 10 members, ages 9-14) research a real-world problem related to sports. They must design, build, program a robot using LEGO SPIKE PRIME®, then compete on a table-top playing field.
It all adds up to tons of fun while they learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEAM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve a problem. Along their journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and even presentation skills, as they must present their solutions with a dash of creativity to judges. They also practice the Program’s Core Values, which emphasize discovery, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
