Join AAALC for this FREE Seminar, that provides information on MTSS, IEPs and 504s as well as how to work with your schools to meet the needs of your individual child.
It is often very difficult to find the right course of action when you don’t know what’s available. Our Student Advocacy Advisors will provide families with the knowledge they need to advocate for their children with information and support throughout the IEP, 504, or MTSS process.
Navigating these services to receive additional support at school, whether through an IEP, 504, or classroom interventions, is often complicated and overwhelming for families. Our Student Advocacy Advisors will help each family to maneuver through this complicated maze. The goal is to simplify the process for families and answer your questions:
- "What is an IEP? 504?"
- "What is the MTSS Process? How long does it take? What can we expect?"?”
- “What services are available?”
- “How do we form good partnerships with the school to do what's best for my child?”
- “What is the least restrictive environment? What is best for my child?”
- Meeting with students and families to review background and educational history
- Collaborating with educators and families regarding the needs of each student
- Providing explanations of current laws, best practices, and local resources
- Attending meetings regarding students’ educational progress, if requested
- Providing information regarding IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), 504 plans, and the MTSS Process
