July 22 – July 26
Array of Arts & Crafts (Entering Grades PreK - 6th) (CLOSED)
Campers learn how to make soap, jewelry, bath bombs, pillows, dreamcatchers, cards, paper and much more as they discover the beauty of working with their hands to create unique things. Campers will take home their final projects to share with family and friends.
LEGO Creation! (Entering Grades PreK - 6th) (CLOSED)
Bricks bricks everywhere! Girls and boys will be presented with LEGO challenges to create both stationary and robotic LEGO creations that will require them to think critically, explore, collaborate and problem solve. This camp is all LEGO all the time with a twist! Teachers will begin each day with a LEGO challenge which each student will share with the group. How many different solutions are there? They will work to build various structures, recreate famous buildings and works or art and learn through the use of these amazing bricks.
Robotics/Coding (Entering Grades 1st - 8th) (CLOSED)
Robotics and coding are becoming critical parts of the lives of today's youth. Youth are being prepared for jobs that don't yet exist and need to be able to think, create and inspire! Robotics builds science, technology, engineering and math skills, providing students with real world experiences. Campers will practice thinking critically about problems and solutions while developing programming skills and team building. AAALC robotics programs begin as young as kindergarten and encourage students to continue through high school and beyond.
In Our Summer Era-Swifties Welcome! (Entering Grades 1st - 8th) CLOSED
This camp won’t be as iconic as the woman who inspired it, but it will provide loyal Swifties with some amazing experiences, friendships and knowledge that builds an understanding of art, writing, music, science and more! Campers will be grouped by age level to dive deep into this “enchanted” week. Join us to create a mood board, get bedazzled, bling out some cool clothing, make a personal journal and of course, create friendship bracelets. Through a focus on all things Taylor, this program will also teach campers how to journal feelings and ideas, develop their art and understand poetry, writing, lyrics and more through critical thinking and reading skills. Campers may find their own inspiration!
Coding: Scratch and Minecraft (Entering Grades 4th - 8th) (CLOSED)
Students joining this class will learn the history of computer programming and what coding is all about. They will be introduced to different computer “languages” and create an account that they will be able to use after the class is complete. As they explore the environment of scratch and each of the related elements, they will learn how to add sprites and backdrops. They will create blocks, loops and conditional code, adding sounds and music to a video or game. Campers will be saving and playing their own game creations by the end of the week!
